The Avid Reader regularly features local authors for readings, booksignings and discussions. Davis is home to fantasy writer Kim Stanley Robinson, Max Byrd, the author of the critically acclaimed Jefferson and Jackson novels, best-selling fiction/thriller writer, John Lescroart, and Ted Puntillo, creator of the popular children's book, The Toads of Davis: A Saga of a Small Town, to name just a few.

Of course, we can special order titles by local favorites, but our shelves typically carry the most recent publications by Davis writers.
